7 ½ habits of life long learners

Alrighty…time to get started…

I have just viewed a web cast PowerPoint on the 7 ½ habits of life long learning. I think the easiest to follow is # 2, accept responsibility for your own learning.

Absolutely yes, you betcha, yessiree Bob!!

No one else can learn for you. You have to have the discipline to find out what you want to know and not just settle or wait for someone to hand it to you.

For me, the hardest of the habits is #3, view problems as challenges. Intellectually I know this to be true…emotionally…well, I don’t want to have any problems. I want all things to run smoothly all the time.

However, by looking at a problem as a learning experience…and not a crisis situation…should make the problem easier to fix or the solution easier to find. (Now I just have to keep telling myself that.)

The entire program can be viewed through the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County. http://www.plcmc.org/public/learning/player.html
(Yeah, I wanted to see if I could add a link...and hey...it seems to have worked)

Am I really the first to comment on this blog? Oh, the honor! How I shall long to see the archived record in 50 years!!! :-) This is hilarious--the 7 1/2 habits. It makes me want to pull out my DVD of 51 second abs. Anyway, blog looks nice. Did you know only people with gmail accounts can make comments? That's how it appears to me. Am I wrong?
